Shokz OpenFit Wireless Airbud Review

Shokz

I’ve been wearing the Shokz wireless headphones for swimming for some time now. These headphones are bone conductors, and I love the technology behind them. So, when I went to the Running Event in Austin, Shokz provided me with the Shokz OpenFit Wireless Earbuds, and I was thrilled to check them out. The Shokz OpenFit Wireless Earbuds are not bone conductors. However, they don’t go inside your ear, and you can hear surrounding sounds.

At first, I thought they were bone conductors, but after further research, I realized they were not like the headphones I have enjoyed. Here are my positives and negatives of the OpenFit Wireless Earbuds.

The Positives

1. Secure Fit

One of the most impressive features of the Shokz Wireless Earbuds is their secure fit. While many earbuds tend to fall out during vigorous activities, these earbuds stay put no matter what you’re doing. They remain securely on your head whether you’re jogging, cycling, or moving around the house. This feature alone makes them an excellent choice for active individuals. I’ve worn these during runs and bike rides. They work great!

2. Excellent Sound Quality

The sound quality of the Shokz earbuds is another major plus. The audio is crisp, clear, and well balanced. Whether you’re listening to your favorite tunes, taking calls, or catching up on your favorite podcast, these earbuds deliver an immersive audio experience. They have a broad frequency range, which means you can enjoy a wide variety of music genres at their best.

The Negatives

However, like all products, the Shokz Wireless Earbuds are not without their drawbacks.

1. Battery Life

While the earbuds offer decent battery life, it may not be sufficient for users who require long-lasting usage throughout the day. The website says that it will last 28 hours but that’s with the case. After testing and doing an internet search, I found the battery lasts a couple of hours. However, when I didn’t use for a week or so, and tried to use them, the battery needed to be charged. Now, I charge after every use.

2. Price Point

Another potential downside of the Shokz Wireless Earbuds is their price point. They are certainly not the cheapest option on the market. However, given their sound quality and secure fit, many users might find the price justified for the value they provide.

The price of the OpenFit Air Buds are $179.99.

Final Takeaways

OpenFit are a well-rounded product that delivers in areas that matter most – comfort and sound quality. While they may have a few drawbacks such as battery life and price, their positives significantly outweigh these negatives.

If you’re looking for earbuds that won’t fall off your head and deliver excellent sound, the Shokz Wireless Earbuds should definitely be on your shortlist. You can buy them on the Shokz website here: https://shokz.com/

P.S. I wore them on a run today and they work great!
