When Jolyn reached out to me to see if I would review their bathing suit, I was thrilled. I love checking out new products. I requested the Caroline Bathing Suit in Navy, size 34.
What You Actually Get With the Caroline
The Caroline features a built-in shelf bra, which means real support without a separate bra tugging around underneath. The straps are a generous 3/4″ wide, so they distribute pressure across your shoulders instead of cutting in during a long set. You get full coverage for your back and bum (JOLYN rates it Coverage 5), so nothing rides up when you push off the wall.
It’s built from JOLYN’s signature Foreverever® fabric — 100% polyester, chlorine-proof, and fade-resistant. That last part sold me. The Caroline has 2-way stretch for freedom of movement, reinforced stitching for durability, and a tagless design so nothing scratches your neck. Bonus: it’s lined for maximum privacy, which every swimmer appreciates.
Why It Works So Well for Triathlon Swim Training
Swim training is where this suit really earns its place in my gear bag.
Drag reduction. The snug fit hugs your body and keeps everything streamlined. Less drag means you move through the water more efficiently, which adds up over a long swim block.
A secure fit with no shifting. This might be my favorite thing about the Caroline. The shelf bra and wider straps keep everything locked in place. No adjusting, no readjusting, no fabric creeping where it shouldn’t. You just swim.
High-impact support. JOLYN designed this suit for the highest level of activity, and you feel it. Whether you’re grinding through interval sets or a steady endurance swim, the support stays put.
Durability in the pool. Chlorine is a suit killer. The chlorine-proof Foreverever® fabric plus reinforced stitching means the Caroline can handle daily training without breaking down. For triathletes putting in 15 to 20 hours a week, that longevity saves you money and hassle.
A Real Note on Sizing
Here’s the honest heads-up: the Caroline runs small, so size up. I knew this before I ordered. I typically wear a 32 so I ordered up to a 34. I probably could have gone with a 36, and it would still be fine.
JOLYN training suits are built to fit snugly to reduce drag, which is great once you’re in the water but tricky if you order your usual size. If you’re new to JOLYN or stuck between sizes, go up one. Trust me, you’ll thank yourself when it slides on comfortably instead of feeling like a wrestling match.

The Navy Color
I went with Navy Blue, and it’s a clean, classic look that pairs with any cap and goggles. It doesn’t scream for attention, and after weeks in chlorinated water, it still looks sharp. Fade resistance is real here.
Would I Recommend It?
The JOLYN Caroline checks every box I care about: a secure, drag-reducing fit, solid support for high-intensity swims, and fabric tough enough to survive endless chlorine exposure. The tagless, lined design and wider straps make it comfortable enough that I forget I’m wearing it, which is exactly what you want when your focus should be on your stroke.
My one takeaway: order a size up. Do that, and you’ll have a training suit that holds its shape, color, and support far longer than the cheap stuff.
