When you’re getting ready for a book tour, there is already so much on your mind. You’re thinking about flights, events, signing schedules, interviews, and making sure you show up fully present for every reader you meet. The last thing you want to worry about is what to wear each day.
That is why I am so grateful to Skechers for outfitting me for my recent book tours. Their support took away so much of the stress that comes with travel wardrobe planning. Instead of standing over an open suitcase and second-guessing every outfit, I had a collection that was stylish, comfortable, easy to pack, and simple to mix and match.
Why Skechers Made Book Tour Dressing So Easy

Travel dressing sounds simple until you actually have to do it for multiple stops, long airport days, public appearances, and packed schedules. You need clothes that look polished, feel good for hours, and hold up through washing, repacking, and constant movement.
That’s exactly what Skechers gave me.
The whole collection worked together so well. The main colors were blue, black, and white, which made everything easy to coordinate. I loved that I didn’t have to overthink it. I could pull pieces together quickly and know they would match. That kind of ease is a gift when you’re moving from one city to the next.
Even better, everything was packed beautifully. The pieces were wrinkle-resistant, which made a huge difference when living out of a suitcase. They also washed well, which matters so much on tour. When you’re traveling often, you need clothing that keeps up with your schedule without becoming high-maintenance.

The Pieces I Reached for Again and Again
Skechers sent such a thoughtful mix of apparel, outerwear, bottoms, shoes, and accessories. Every item had a purpose, and together they created a travel wardrobe that felt both practical and stylish.
A few pieces stood out to me in a big way.
The GO WALK Uptown Pant
The Skechers Slip-ins GO WALK Uptown Pant in blue and black quickly became one of my favorite tour staples. These pants were incredibly comfortable, which is non-negotiable when you’re traveling and spending long days on the move.
What I loved most was how easy they were to wear. They looked polished enough for events, but they felt relaxed enough for travel days. That combination is hard to find. They also washed beautifully and held up so well, which made them even more valuable during the tour.
If I had to name one of the most dependable pieces in my suitcase, it would be these pants.
The Pink Skirt Everyone Asked About

The pink skirt was such a fun standout. The Skechers GO WALK Evolution Skort added a bright, playful touch to the collection, and people noticed. Everywhere I wore it, someone wanted to know where I got it.
It was cute, easy to style, and such a nice contrast to the blue, black, and white palette. It gave me a way to add personality to my outfits while still fitting perfectly with the rest of my wardrobe.
Sometimes one piece becomes an instant conversation starter. This was definitely one of those pieces.
The Varsity Jackets That Pulled Everything Together
I loved the outerwear option. The Varsity Jacket really elevated the entire wardrobe. A good jacket can change an outfit, and this one did exactly that. It added structure, style, and versatility.
I got so many compliments on the jackets throughout the tour. It made every outfit feel more finished and polished without sacrificing comfort.
The Baseball Hat That Went with Everything

The Skechers Crest Baseball Hat was another piece I ended up loving. It worked with almost any outfit and gave me one more easy option when I wanted a casual, pulled-together look.
Accessories can make travel dressing simpler, and this hat did exactly that. It was effortless and versatile, which made it surprisingly useful throughout the tour.
Why Skechers Slip-ins Were a Game Changer

If you’ve ever walked through a major airport on a tight schedule, you already know that shoes can make or break your day. On a book tour, that matters even more. You’re not just getting from gate to gate. You’re standing, walking, rushing, waiting, and doing it all over again in the next city.
That’s why the Skechers Slip-ins were such a game-changer for me.
I wore:
- Skechers Slip-ins: Aero Burst
- Skechers Slip-ins: GO WALK Glide-Step 2.0 – Maria
- Skechers Slip-ins: Aero Spark
- Skechers Slip-ins: GO WALK Max Cushioning Arch Fit – Areena
The comfort was incredible. My feet felt supported, even during those long airport walks that can wear you down fast. The Aero Burst and Aero Spark were especially great as running-focused styles, while the GO WALK Glide-Step 2.0 – Maria and GO WALK Max Cushioning Arch Fit – Areena were wonderful walking shoes.
What stood out most was how soft they felt on my feet. And of course, the slip-in technology made everything even easier. Being able to slide right into my shoes without hassle may sound like a small thing, but when you’re constantly on the go, it makes a real difference.
They were practical, comfortable, and stylish. Just like the clothing, they matched the outfits perfectly, which made getting dressed that much easier.
Another Stand Out Item: Lettuce Socks!
I absolutely loved the Lettuce Socks. They looked so cute with every outfit, and they were super comfy! Here’s the link: 3 Pack Women’s Ankle Lettuce Socks. I need to buy myself some more of these!
A Travel Wardrobe That Truly Worked
What made this Skechers collection so special was not just that the pieces looked good. It was that they worked for real life on tour.
Here’s what made the wardrobe so effective:
- Everything matched: The blue, black, and white palette made styling easy.
- It packed well: The pieces held up in a suitcase and stayed looking fresh.
- It washed well: I didn’t have to worry about special care or high-maintenance fabrics.
- It felt comfortable: From event days to airport walks, comfort was built in.
- It looked polished: I could feel put together without spending hours planning outfits.
That kind of support goes beyond clothing. It gave me peace of mind.
When you’re traveling for work, especially for something as personal as a book tour, having one less thing to stress over matters more than people may realize. Skechers helped simplify that part of my life in such a thoughtful way.
Texas Got the Most Compliments

Every tour stop was special, but I have to say that the Texas tour got the most compliments on the outfits.
People really noticed the looks there. From the jackets to the pink skirt to the shoes, there was so much kind feedback. It was fun to hear people ask about specific pieces and to see how much they loved the overall style.
That made the experience even sweeter because it confirmed what I had already been feeling: this collection was not only comfortable and practical but also genuinely stylish.
