Spotlight on a Runner Who Gives Back: Jacqueline Seltzer

Jacqueline Seltzer
In the world of running, we often celebrate personal bests, finish lines, and epic training sessions. But the true heart of our community lies in the people who show up for others.
It’s the friends and teammates who offer a word of encouragement, share their wisdom, and extend a helping hand without ever asking for anything in return. Today, I want to shine a spotlight on one of those incredible individuals. Jacqueline Seltzer is my personal friend, teammate, and all-around amazing person.
To many, Jacqui is a highly accomplished runner and a successful corporate meeting director. But to those of us lucky enough to know her, she is so much more. She is the embodiment of generosity and support, a person who consistently goes the extra mile—both on and off the racecourse—to lift up those around her.

More Than a Runner

On paper, Jacqui’s running accomplishments are impressive. She tackles her training with dedication and has earned her success through hard work. However, what truly defines her is not just her athletic ability, but her incredible character. She balances a demanding career as a corporate meeting director with her passion for running, bringing the same professionalism and grace to both.
I’ve known Jacqui for years, and I can say she is one of the nicest, most supportive people I’ve ever met. In a competitive sport, it’s rare to find someone who is genuinely just as excited for your success as they are for their own. Jacqui is that person. Whether you’re a seasoned marathoner or just starting your running journey, she offers the same unwavering encouragement and belief in your potential.

The Ultimate Marathon Angel

If you have run the TCS New York City Marathon or the Boston Marathon, you know what stress feels like. It’s so much more than running the 26.2 miles. It’s the logistics—especially finding a place to stay. Hotels are booked months, sometimes years, in advance, and prices can be astronomical. This is where Jackie’s kindness truly shines.
Jacqui is a trusted resource in the running community. Jacqueline also arranges corporate functions, weddings, and family reunions.
Using her professional expertise in planning and her immense network, Jacqui has become a sort of guardian angel for runners. She has helped so many of my athletes, and countless others in the community, find accommodations for these major races. Jacqui dives into the challenge. She connects people, finds hidden gems, and alleviates a major source of stress. This allows athletes to focus on their race.
She does this out of the goodness of her heart, simply because she wants to see others succeed. This act of service is a perfect example of who she is: someone who identifies a problem and quietly, effectively solves it for the benefit of others. The offers runners the same rates she negotiates — no markups.  All payments go directly to the hotel. For most hotels, rooms can be canceled 10 days in advance without penalty. Hotel reward points can be earned.

Sponsoring the Future of Running and Triathlon

Jacqui’s generosity extends beyond individual acts of kindness. She is a true champion of the running community, and I am thrilled and honored to announce her support for my upcoming book tour.
Jacqueline Seltzer will be sponsoring my stop in Philadelphia this February. I hope you’ll join us on February 21st at GrechFit in West Chester, PA, to celebrate and connect. Her sponsorship is a testament to her commitment to fostering a strong, supportive, and well-informed community of athletes. It’s an honor to have her support as I share my own journey and insights with fellow runners.

A Heart of Gold

Jacqueline Seltzer is a powerful reminder that our impact is measured not only by what we achieve for ourselves but by what we do for others. She is an accomplished runner, a skilled professional, and, most importantly, a deeply kind and generous soul. Her contributions make our running community a better, more welcoming place.
