I was thinking of doing the Alpha Win Kingston Race in June, but since getting COVID-19, I had to change my plans. I was upset.
However, the race director was amazing. I told him what happened and he immediately said, “pick another race and we will put the fee toward that other race.” I was pleasantly surprised.
How many times have you signed up for a race and how many times have they let you pick another race that worked in your schedule? For me, none!
Alpha Win (also known as HITS)
They are the nicest group of people you ever want to meet and they have some very interesting races that take place around the country.
The three most popular races are the three in upstate New York – Kingston, Lake George, and Saugerties. They also have triathlon races in California and Florida. There looks like an amazing triathlon in Napa Valley, which I’m sure is magnificent.
Alpha Win offers five different race distances – Full, Half, Olympic, Sprint, and Open.
Running Races
They also host the Ave Maria Marathon which is near Tampa. Also located in a gorgeous area of the country. They have several different running options ranging from 1 mile to 26.2 miles.
So what did I sign up for?
I requested to do a January race in Sarasota, Florida. I love doing Florida races and January will be a perfect time to race there because it’s not that hot at that time. I’m planning on doing the sprint triathlon, but there is also an Olympic and Half distance offered.
What appeals to me is that it’s flat, takes place in a beautiful area of our country, is very scenic, and it excites me. I can’t wait.
