Is NOOM Worth It?

Some of these companies know exactly who to target and I was targeted by NOOM, a weight-loss program designed by psychologists & scientifically proven to create real, sustainable results. With the Covid-19, I gained all the weight I lost on MetPro, so I decided to give this a try. It was a lot cheaper than MetPro and people were raving about it on social media.

I tried it for 14 days during a trial and lost nothing. But, I didn’t think that was fair judge of time. So, I purchased two months for $150.

How did it work?

The program works several ways, for starters, you get a green category, which is mostly fruits and vegetables; a yellow category, which is mostly protein; and a red category, which is nuts and other fats that have higher caloric intake.

It’s primarily an app and every day, you need to weigh yourself then read a 10-15 minute piece on motivation, food and other psychological type things.

In addition to that, you put your workouts in the program. It says it links with your Garmin but it doesn’t. I had to manually put in my exercise daily.

If the program worked, it would be good. I liked the app and the way it worked. What I didn’t like was that I had a bot for a coach and after about a month in the program, I was put into a group, which I found useless.

I didn’t really care about what others ate or did for exercise. I didn’t know these people and to be honest, I couldn’t care less.

Did the program work?

I stayed on the program for more than 2 months and didn’t lose an ounce. I said that to the bot one day and she replied, “well at least you’re feeling good.”

I never felt bad! I work out every day for an hour or more, I try to eat right every day, I just don’t know why I’m not losing. So, what did I do? I dropped out. I could accomplish the same thing by not spending the $70 or so a month. (By the way, by dropping out, they offered me the same program for$19 a month.)

Just wanted to let you know… If anyone had a better experience, please share in the comment section below. Thanks.
