I get plantar fasciitis and it’s not fun. I feel it after a long run and I do two things to alleviate the pain — ice and I use the Myostorm Meteor.  I know people who have had surgery as a result of this condition. So it’s important to address immediately.

What is Plantar Fasciitis

According to the Mayo Clinic, “Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain. It involves inflammation of a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of your foot and connects your heel bone to your toes (plantar fascia).”

The Plantar fasciitis will cause stabbing pain that usually occurs with your first steps in the morning. It typically goes away but can come back during the day. It is a common running injury. The Mayo Clinic says, “people who are overweight and those who wear shoes with inadequate support also have an increased risk of plantar fasciitis.”

What to do about it?

Baily Carlson of Myostorm said, “prevention is key.” He goes on to say that orthopedic inserts help. “But, because Plantar Fasciitis is caused by tight muscles, stretching and massage can relax and lengthen muscles. One of the ways to do this is to use the Myostorm Meteor because it vibrates and has heat. Ice helps too!”

My experience

When I get home from a long run, no matter if my heal or my achilles is bothering me, I reach for the Myostorm Meteor, turn it on and massage my feet. It feels so good. That coupled with ice and the next day, I’m good as new.
